Susanna Taylor-Neumann Named Official Bagpiper for Sikh Inaugural Ball

susi-bagpipes3Organizers announced Saturday that a local Washington-area Bagpiper artist has been chosen as the Official Bagpiper for the First-ever Sikh Inaugural Ball.

"We are excited to annouce that Susanna Taylor-Neumann will be performing at our historic event," said Lakhinder & Gurveen Vohra, co-creators of the Sikh Inaugural Event. "Susanna joins a truly global line up of artists who will be performing at this unique event hosted by the Sikh Community."

Susanna Taylor-Neumann has been playing bagpipes professionally for 8 years. She has been a prevalent member of the Scotch College Pipes and Drums for 7 years, during which time the pipe band won multiple local, state and national competitions. Susanna has also been teaching bagpipes for 5 years.

Susanna is currently based in Silver Spring, Maryland and performs at a variety of events in and around the area.

Broadway Singer "Desi" To Perform at Sikh Inaugural Ball

Desi , who starred in the critically acclaimed Broadway-bound musical, "Where Eagles Fly" at the historic Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C, has agreed to perform at the First-ever Sikh Inaugural Ball.

2009 is shaping up to be a banner year for CLOUT Entertainment recording artist, Desi.

At this moment, Desi is in Washington, D.C. to record the follow up CD to the critically-acclaimed "Golden Lady" album, which was well received by the recording industry and general public.  The title track, "Golden Lady" was voted "Wedding Song of the Year" in 2006, by over 45,000 online subscribers (www.soul-patrol.com) and "Takin' It As It Comes" was the number one song in The Netherlands for four weeks.  The new cd, will feature a number of great songs, special guests and contain Desi's smoothing singing.  The first single should be available to the public by late February.

This year Desi will be on the road touring, performing at promotional events and singing The National Anthem at a number of sporting events.  In addition, Desi will be performing overseas later in the year.

International R&B Singer 'Charm' To Perform at Sikh Ball

International R&B Singer, Charm, who celebrates her birthday on January 20, has been chosen to perform at the Sikh Inaugural Ball, the organizers announced Tuesday.

Charm will perform one or two popular cover songs such as Mariah Carey's "Hero" to commemorate president-elect Barack Obama, or hits like "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion, "I'll Always Love You" in the likes of Whitney Houston, "Natural Woman" by Aretha Franklin, ect.

She would also perform two songs from her new album "Check For Me."

In a statement, Charm said: "As January 20th is my birthday, I would much rather spend my special day sharing my gift with my Sikh and Indian friends than to spend it not doing what I love."

'Kishore Kumar of the West' Global Debut at Inaugural Ball

adelFor all the fans of old Kishore Kumar melodies and those looking for uplifting Desi happening tunes, we have some good news.

The Sikh Inaugural Ball is proud to announce its entertainment line-up and among the performers lined up to entertain the audience will be a unique guest.

"We are proud to announce that we will be introducing to the Washington, DC stage a unique performer who will come to be known as 'Kishore Kumar of the West'" said Lakhinder & Gurveen Vohra, co-creators of the Ball in a press release issued Tuesday.

The Sikh Inaugural Ball is proud to announce the Global debut of ADEL AHMED, a Bangladesh singing sensation, who has agreed to perform at the Ball.

Adel is a passionate Fan of Kishore Kumar, the Indian singing legend. He has received numerous awards for his singing in Bangladesh and India. He has also performed on Bangladesh TV and Radio Stations.

Adel will sing top Indian film songs and after the show he will be available for autographs and future bookings.

Adel is being managed by the Bollywood Motion Pictures Association, a new organization that has been formed in partnership with major production houses in Hollywood and Bollywood.

Bollywood Motion Pictures Association plans to create more awareness for Bollywood cinema in Washington, DC the nation's capital and will represent the interests of the Bollywood film fraternity in Washington, DC.
